Afghan American Community Services Center Celebrated
Afghan American Unity Day with State Leaders and Community Members Virginia, September 21, 2025, The Afghan American Community Services Center (ACSC) proudly hosted a historic celebration of Afghan American Unity Day, bringing together state leadership, Afghan American community leaders, families, men, women, and youth in an inspiring display of unity and cultural pride. The event was honored by the presence of Honorable Governor Glenn Youngkin, Honorable Winsome Earle-Sears, Lieutenant Governor, and Honorable Juan Pablo Segura, Secretary of Commerce and Trade, alongside respected Afghan community leaders. Together, they recognized the valuable contributions of Afghan Americans to the Commonwealth of Virginia and the United States. During the celebration, speakers highlighted the importance of unity, cultural heritage, and civic engagement. The Governor and Lieutenant Governor commended the Afghan American community for its resilience, leadership, and commitment to enriching the state’s social, cultural, and economic fabric. The Secretary of Commerce emphasized the vital role of Afghan Americans in advancing business, trade, and workforce development. Community leaders expressed their deep appreciation to state officials for their support and partnership, underscoring the significance of Afghan American Unity Day as an opportunity to strengthen connections, celebrate diversity, and build a brighter future together. “This celebration reflects our shared values of unity, service, and opportunity,” said a representative of ACSC. “We are honored to have our state leadership stand alongside our community as we continue working to support Afghan American families and future generations.” The Afghan American Community Services Center remains committed to its mission of providing educational, cultural, and social services to empower the Afghan American community while fostering stronger ties across Virginia and beyond.
